  1. Hospital has an ethical framework however this is not well utilized.  This project is intended to create a guide to how to use the CGMH Ethical Framework.  The student will review frameworks from other organizations to identify tools and strategies that will support use of our framework.  


CGMH is also interested in creating an ethics team.  The student will review the composition of Ethics Teams at other organizations to develop a plan.  

Within the project the student will work with the VP Patient Services & CNE and have the ability to shadow a senior leader to understand the role of the CNE.



Deliverables

(What are the anticipated results of this project? How will it benefit your organization and students?) It is expected that there will be an Ethical Decision-Making tool kit and the framework for an ethics team.  This will benefit CGMH by supporting best use of our Ethical Decision-Making framework and determining the composition of an ethics team.  These initiatives are in alignment with best practices and accreditation Canada standards.  The student will have an understanding of how other organizations implement an ethical framework and have the opportunity to learn more about the CNE role.


  1. (Describe the expected role of students, including tasks, collaboration type: remote/onsite, etc.) The student will review the websites of other organizations and any best practices.  There will be collaboration with our CGMH Ethicists for periodic support and guidance.  There is an opportunity to work both remote and onsite.  The student will have the opportunity to shadow the CNE at key leadership tables.
